Trapped Consciousness
When I'm sleeping, I often experience a strange symptom where my consciousness is awake, but my body is unable to move. This phenomenon is medically known as sleep paralysis,Scientists have arrived at definitive conclusions regarding the occurrence of sleep paralysis, linking it to life stress and primarily affecting adolescents and young adults. These individuals typically suffer from excessive life stress, irregular sleep schedules, frequent late nights, insomnia, and anxiety, all of which can contribute to sleep paralysis. My personal experience with sleep paralysis began in middle school, and I frequently suffer from this symptom. It may stem from my father's strict upbringing and my fears of certain things in life, as well as the academic pressures I faced during my teenage years. Through this project, I aim to explore the sources of my anxiety and stress during that period through the lens of sleep paralysis and present these nightmares in various forms.
